American rapper Bill Kapri, widely known as Kodak Black, has been arrested in South Florida on charges of cocaine possession, evidence tampering, and violating his probation. The 26-year-old artist was apprehended on Thursday after being discovered asleep in a Bentley with drugs in his possession around 3 a.m. in Plantation.
Following the arrest, Kodak Black was held in custody at the Broward County jail. However, reports from NBC Miami indicate that he posted bail on Thursday night.
It is worth noting that in January 2021, former U.S. President Donald Trump commuted Kodak Black’s 46-month prison sentence. This sentence was related to falsifying information on federal forms to purchase firearms and occurred on Trump’s last full day in office.
Kodak Black has a history of legal issues, having previously served seven months in a Florida prison for charges including marijuana possession, child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The rapper has faced charges such as weapons possession, armed robbery, sexual assault, probation violations, and evading law enforcement in the past.
