Top American singer, Chris Brown, has explained his love for the afrobeat genre.

The music star, in a recent episode of the Million Dollarz Worth Of Game podcast, revealed that he plays Nigerian afrobeats music when he is not playing his own songs.

According to him, the genre deserves all the global accolades it’s getting and he loves how the African sound is blossoming.

He also spoke on his collaboration with Afrobeats Superstar Wizkid on his album.

He said;

“If I’m not playing my music, I play Afrobeats. I love how the genre is blossoming and all the recognitions is dope.

“I have been listening to [afrobeats] for a while. Me and Wiz [Wizkid] we got like an afrobeats-type song on my album [Breezy].”

Chris Brown has worked with many Nigerian afrobeats singers including Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Fireboy, and Lojay.

He won the Best International Act at the 2022 Nigerian music award show, Headies Awards.
