Crayon releases a new track, “The One (Chop Life),” which features the Mozambique duo “Yaba Buluku Boys” and comes off the heels of an exciting 2022.

The One (Chop Life), the curtain-raiser for what seems to be a pivotal year for the Ijo (Labalaba) crooner, is a joyful tune that DJ Tarico’s Amapiano production masterfully plays.

Starting off with chutzpah, Crayon is the boss and the party starter in this song. As Crayon’s exuberance and oversized persona come into play, art imitates life.

Crayon closes the bar, orders champagne, and raises a glass in celebration of giving happiness a chance. The Yaba Buluku Boyz provide pomp and energy, and the sound is sure to become a mainstay on the playlists of seasoned listeners.

‘For me, this single is about self-affirmation. It’s about having a good time. Believing the bad time won’t last. And understanding that you can celebrate because you see the positive even when things are not yet how they should be’, Crayon explains about the inspiration behind The One (Chop Life). ‘Like I often say, broken Crayons still color’ he comments.
