Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun, better known as AY, has issued an apology to popular singer Davido for an insensitive and derogatory joke he made about him.

During his performance at the “Warri Again” concert in Delta State, the comedian targeted Davido in his joke, referencing the singer’s multiple baby mamas. It’s worth noting that the married singer currently has three recognized baby mamas.

At the event, AY mentioned that despite having a small ‘preek’, Davido has fathered numerous children with different women, while he himself, with a big ‘dick’, had problems with impregnating his wife.

AY stated that he only has two children with his wife, with a 13-year age gap between them. He added that when a man wants to intentionally father children, he would realize that procreation is work.

The comedian’s statement sparked outrage on social media, with Davido’s fans criticizing him for making a distasteful joke about his manhood.

In response to the criticisms, AY took to his Instagram page to apologize to Davido, acknowledging that he had every right to be upset with him.

The post reads,

“I am so sorry for telling that joke the way it came out in Warri. I shouldn’t even call it a joke anymore. It wasn’t funny like it was during my tour of the US and Canada, and you have every right to be angry after seeing how the blogs used it.

Please know that it is always a learning experience for all of us in the entertainment business. I deserve any backlash or negative thoughts coming my way for the joke that was badly delivered in Warri. So, no excuses at all, my Aburo. No reason am. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido”.

Reacting, Davido left a remark in the comment section, stating that they are good.

“Nothing spoil baba mi,” he wrote.
