Europa League: Best player – Paul Scholes, Owen Hargreaves hails Man United star
Owen Hargreaves and Paul Scholes have hailed Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, describing him as the best player on the pitch in their Europa League win over Real Betis on Thursday night.
United thumped Spanish side Betis 4-1 at Old Trafford in a one-sided first leg and put one foot in the quarter finals ahead of a strip to Spain next week.
Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst scored for the home side.
Hargreaves and Scholes, two Manchester United’s former midfielders, feel Fernandes was the ‘best player on the pitch’.
“There was a spell where he was unplayable, every little touch was perfect,” Hargreaves said of Fernandes on BT Sport.
“Honestly, he was brilliant, the best player on the pitch,” he said.
