Damini Ogulu, a Nigerian musician best known by his stage name Burna Boy, has won the 2023 Black Entertainment Awards’ Best International Act honour, becoming the first artist to bag the coveted award four times.
The ‘African Giant’ singer won the most coveted category of the BET Awards by defeating competitors like Ayra Starr, Central Cee, and Stormzy, among others.
The ‘Common Person’ crooner has won the award four times now, namely, in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023. Losing to another Nigerian singer, Tems, in 2022.
US-based Michael Blackson, a Ghanaian-Liberian actor and comedian, accepted the award on his behalf.

Bunaboy has had an amazing last couple of years.
His 2022 album ‘Love, Damini’ was a worldwide success, and he already took home a BET Award in the same category in 2019 and 2021.
Other nominees in the category included Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola and Uncle Waffles.
