Veteran Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh has spoken out for the first time following the tragic demise of his daughter, Kosisochukwu.
It will be recalled that Kosi, who was only 24-year-old, passed away after battling liver cancer on June 28, 2023. She was laid to rest on Thursday, August 18.
Since her sudden demise, the actor, who is also known as Osoufia, took a break from social media to mourn his beloved daughter.
Nkem Owoh finally breaks
However, he took to his Instagram page on Monday, August 28, to release an official statement, expressing gratitude for the love and support shown to his family in their moment of grief.
The 65-year-old actor said he feels a deep sense of loss because losing his daughter is a change he wasn’t mentally and emotionally prepared for. He, however, stated that he believes he will get through the tragedy.
Osoufia wrote,
“I want to thank you all for the support and love shown to me and my family
When tragedy strikes, there is nothing more heartening than knowing that you’re not alone,
It was with deep gratitude that I received your note, calls with condolences. we have seen many changes over the years. But This is a change I did not anticipate, and I am feeling an acute sense of loss. However, I know that because of your encouragement I will get through this time. Thank you for helping to push me through my grief.”
